I was born and raised in the Pottowattamie county area. I grew up in mainly rural areas the first 8 years being on a farm outside of earlesboro and up til I was in my early 20’s on 10 acres in Pink. I really enjoyed the experiance and even though I live in a small town now I miss the country life. We are as close as it gets though with the land I have in town. We have enough for a small garden and all which I’ve had less in the past so I am happy about that. I am grateful to have my own house which I am paying off. I went to earlesboro for a few years (up til I think maybe 2nd grade) and then attended Tecumseh Christian Academy up til 5th grade. I found there that I enjoyed working at my own pace and was able to recieve several awards. They closed down though about the time I was to go into 5th grade because of all things they wanted to put in computers. That was unheard of at the time and my parents pulled me because they knew the school was going down. I attended Tecumseh from then on. I have done some classes on my own via correspondance and online. I completed some college through San Joaquin Valley college for medical office. I took two art classes correspondance. one I recieved a diploma in the other I still owed some money around the time of my divorce and I had had completed my last class but unfortunately with the way things turned out was unable to finish paying and had to drop it but it was for my masters degree. I think I will always be upset about that one. I also completed a childrens literature course.
I enjoy some writing though I have yet to have finished anything story-wise. I write poetry which I’ve included on this site. I love doing fantasy and nature art. I use varied mediums including digital, paint, pencil, etc. I love to explore new ones. I like to do crafts of all kinds and like to learn new ones there also. My husband is a very good crafts person and does beadwork. He is very creative also with recycling projects. My whole family (kids included) is into different forms of art.
We are all nature lovers too. I am a Pagan with some native american beliefs mixed in. I don’t think I could handle not being around an animal of some type. Growing up I did alot of rescues of wildlife including an oppossum in which its mother was killed so I got to raise it from a baby. It was able to return to the wild as an adult and was able to live nearby since we were on alot of land with a wooded area. (It would stop by sometimes) I think I’ve learned alot if not most of life’s lessons from nature. I have alot of respect for it. Some of my best places to think were just at the edge of the woods overlooking the canyon we had. I’d spend most days there. I was definitally a tomboy. I was always catching lizards, or whatever else didn’t move fast enoough, climbing trees, exploring. My girls are the same.
I was teasingly called Marty Stouffer from wild america by my classmates when I was younger.
I got married too young the first time. I spend about 8 years in an abusive relationship and had 3 kids. (longer story than I care to put here) I was finally able to leave and met a very wonderful man that I had actually crossed paths with before. We knew each other back when I was pregnant with my 2nd child. We had a friend try and hook us up years later when I was single and working as a muralist in her store. (I knew her from school) For some reason we didn’t try it then but about a year later we wound up hooking up and I’ve been very happy ever since. We did have one child together but unfortunately he had trisomy 18 and did not make it through labor. He was born 2 months early. We are now trying again. Thankfully trisomy 18 is not something that is passed along by the parents. It is a genetic fluke that happens when 2 copies of trisomy 18 are formed rather than one through out the body. There are other forms of trisomy 18 (mosaic and translocated) that are genetic but our son had full trisomy 18 which is not. Hopefully we can have another baby in the future. While our son is always in our hearts there will always be that longing I think.
I will continue to add to this as I go.
